Its spring again and May 10th and 11th saw the annual WRS tournament return to Downing playing fields. Approximately 140 participants basked under glorious blue skies and battled a brisk wind to have a great weekend.

A big thank you to Jack who steered the whole thing to fruition and special shout out for Helen who ran the kitchen from 7.00am both days , kept the archers supplied with bacon rolls and kept the judges happy with a very appetising looking lunch.

As in previous years our enterprising Ice Cream man came calling and archers and spectators showed an impressive turn of speed to get in the queue

CCB archers featured in the medals. Lydia Sinnett-Smith took silver in Ladies compound, beaten by Paralympics gold medallist Jodie Grinham . In the gents over 50 recurve CCB archers Craig Murray and Richard Brasher had a close battle with Craig beating Richard into second place with a strong second half.  Full results are available at https://www.cocb.co.uk/tournament/.  But here’s a taster of the two days:
